Earrings- MF tītitipounamu/Rifleman
These handmade stud earrings depict the Tītipounamu / Rifleman, the smallest bird in Aotearoa! This pair is of a male (green) and a female (brown).
Pounamu is the te reo māori word for Aotearoa greenstone/jade which is a taonga or treasure. The bird's feathers reflect their namesake's beautiful colours; a mixture of greens, browns and whites.
The population of Tītipounamu is growing on Tiritiri Matangi Island but they are amongst the more challenging to spot becasue they are so small and quick!
