Now you can knit a beanie yourself! 

Ten years after the first of Kay Milton’s Tiritiri beanies appeared in the shop, she has produced a pattern book featuring 14 of the most popular designs.

The book contains instructions for knitting the basic beanie, plus a chart and additional tips for each of the featured designs from the simplest (kiwi) to the most complex (pīwakawaka). It is lavishly illustrated with photos, not only of the beanies but also of some of the birds represented on them.

“It has been a huge team effort,” says Kay, “involving photographers, models, knitters, and experts in software and book design. It has taken more than three years to produce, mainly because those involved, who have given their services free of charge, have had many other commitments. I am deeply grateful to all of them.”

Our E-Vouchers and Gift Certificates make great gifts, providing an easy way to support our conservation work while treating a loved one! We have two options available depending on your needs, please get in touch if you require assistance.

E-Vouchers
– Purchase through our online shop
– After the purchase, you will receive an email with the gift voucher and instructions on how to use it
– This is a digital voucher
– Redeem online only

Gift Certificates
– Purchase in our “on-island” physical shop OR email retail@tiritirimatangi.org.nz
– Can be emailed or posted to recipient or collected from the shop on-island
– Redeem in store on Tiritiri Matangi Island only

Unfortunately vouchers cannot be used to pay for ferry, guided walk or bunkhouse bookings and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Shipping

We have partnered with NZ Post to deliver your orders both domestically and internationally.

For delivery within NZ:
You will be able to choose from a selection of shipping options when you are checking out. Choose based on your delivery address (rural or non-rural) or whether your require tracking or if you have purchased calendars only.

For international delivery:
Single calendar purchases are available.
For any further purchases please get in touch with your postal address and we can provide a quote and some options for you.

Exchanges, Returns or Faulty Items

We are happy to assist you with any issues and will always fulfil our obligations under the consumer guarantees act. Please send us an email or call us with your enquiry.

Exchanges are available within 14 days of original purchase, proof of purchase is essential and customer to cover postage costs.
We don’t offer refunds for change of mind purchases.
